Organizational Advisory & Consulting

Strategic advisory for organizations in growth, succession, restructuring, or leadership transition, building leadership capacity at the level where it is needed most.

Organizational advisory and consulting addresses the core challenge that surfaces when organizations reach a critical transition: too much leadership responsibility is concentrated at the top, and the next level of leaders is not yet equipped to take ownership. This work is for the owner preparing to step back, the successor who has the title but not yet the full capacity, the executive team where strong technical performers have been promoted without being equipped to lead people, and the organization where growth or a planned retirement is arriving faster than leadership capacity is being transferred.

Jen Brown brings 23 years of executive and diplomatic leadership, including graduate-level work at the National War College and experience leading cross-cultural teams across the United States, Latin America, and beyond, to every engagement. Working alongside Jen, organizations clarify where leadership capacity is thin, build actionable development plans, and create the conditions for leaders at every level to take meaningful ownership. She has worked with private businesses, municipal governments, and law enforcement organizations. When the work calls for it, she delivers in Spanish.

Engagements are tailored to the organization's size, structure, and specific transition. The starting point is always a real conversation about what is actually happening, not a fixed scope or a predetermined package. Reach out through the contact form to get started.

Common questions

What kinds of organizations do you typically work with?

Primarily owners, executives, and leadership teams navigating a significant transition: growth that has exposed a thin leadership bench, a succession where the next leader needs to build capacity quickly, or a restructuring that requires leaders at every level to step up. Industries vary. Engagements have spanned private businesses, municipal government, and law enforcement associations. If the challenge is building leadership capacity and creating clearer ownership throughout the organization, this work applies.

How is organizational advisory different from leadership coaching?

Leadership coaching focuses on an individual leader, strengthening their communication, decision-making, and development. Organizational advisory looks at the organization as a system: where leadership capacity is concentrated, where it is thin, and how to build it across the team. Most engagements involve elements of both, because organizational change requires individual leaders to grow. Jen will be direct about which approach fits your situation.

How do engagements typically start?

With a conversation about what is actually happening in your organization. The first call is not a sales pitch. It is a chance to understand the situation, see whether there is a fit, and identify the right next step together. Scope and format are determined from there. Reach out through the contact form to begin.

Don't be fooled, she will not give you the easy way out, she makes you critically think about a holistic approach to management and systems. Jen thinks outside the box and provides sound business advice but also some tenderness in a world that is already so stressful. Truly is a coach in all sense of the word and work!

She is real, raw, and full of integrity. Her wisdom brings encouragement and hope to all who cross her path. As business owner myself, I often bump up against new problems to solve and badly need guidance. Her podcast, Ripple Effect Leadership, has been my go-to in these moments.

The conversation starts here.

The initial call is about understanding your situation, seeing whether there is a fit, and figuring out the right next step together. No package pitch, just an honest conversation about what your organization actually needs.
